On September 13-14, 2025, a two-day training session was held in the Gyulagarak community as part of the “Sustainable Development Goals in Communities: Challenges and Solutions” project. Approximately 20 women and girls participated, gaining valuable insights into community development and rights.
The training covered key topics such as leadership and community mobilization (trainer: Madlen Minasyan), local self-governance (trainer: Kristine Hovsepyan), women’s rights (trainer: Varsik Nerkararyan), and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and advocacy (trainer: Davit Hakobyan). A special guest, Tamara England, shared insights on the current state and challenges of women’s rights in the United States.
On the second day, participants utilized the “SDG Mapping” methodology to identify local community issues and align them with global sustainable development targets. We extend our gratitude to the Gyulagarak Municipality for their support and cooperation.
This training was implemented by the “WE” Youth NGO of Lori Region within the framework of the “CSOs4SLD2: CSOs for Sustainable Local Development (Grant Management)” project’s small grants component by the “NGO Center” CSD NGO. The project is part of the “Strengthening Civil Society in the Eastern Partnership Countries” program, implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and funded by the German Government and the European Union (EU).
