Within the framework of the “REGION: National Network for Reliable Awareness of Electoral Processes” project, a workshop was held in the Ani community of the Shirak region. The primary objective was to equip young people with theoretical and practical knowledge regarding electoral processes.
During the first half of the workshop, participants explored the role of citizens in a democracy and the constitutional foundations of the formation of power. Detailed attention was given to the technical and legal aspects of elections, including the formation of polling stations and the key roles of observers and commission members. Participants were also introduced to modern civic participation tools, specifically the use of digital platforms such as e-draft and e-request in the decision-making process.
The second half of the day focused on the practical application of skills. Through a simulation exercise, participants mastered the entire chain of an election day-from the opening of the polling station to the summary of results.
The workshop is implemented with the financial support of the European Union and the German Marshall Fund of the United States – Transatlantic Foundation (GMF TF). The “WE” Youth NGO of Lori Region bears full responsibility for the content, which does not necessarily reflect the views of the European Union or GMF TF.
