Myth 1: Joining the EU means losing national sovereignty.
- Reality: The EU is a partnership of sovereign states, not a centralized government. Member states fully retain their constitutions, militaries, and independent foreign policies. Decisions on shared matters (e.g., the common market) are made jointly by the member states themselves.
Myth 2: Visa liberalization means immediate EU membership or residency.
- Reality: Visa liberalization and EU membership are entirely separate processes. Visa-free travel allows citizens to visit the Schengen zone for short-term stays (up to 90 days within a 180-day period) for tourism or business. It does not grant the right to work, study long-term, or claim residency. For instance, Georgia and Ukraine have had visa-free travel for years without being EU members.

- Reality: Education, culture, and social policies remain strictly under national jurisdiction. The EU only supports collaborative opportunities and exchange programs. Programs like Erasmus+, eTwinning, and Horizon Europe empower Armenian students, schools, and scientists through funding and international cooperation without changing domestic curricula.
