On September 27, 2025, a two-day training session was launched in the Tashir community as part of the “Sustainable Development Goals in Communities: Challenges and Solutions” project. Around 20 women and girls participated, focusing on their role in local development.
During the first session, guest speaker Lilya Davtyan introduced the principles of local self-governance and mechanisms for civic engagement. Through a group assignment, participants explored the official website of the Tashir municipality and the newly created “Tesel em” application, which serves as a platform for reporting community issues.
The second part of the day, led by trainer Madlen Minasyan, focused on leadership skills. Participants discussed the distinctions between a leader and a manager, analyzed the traits of an exemplary leader, and identified the core abilities required for effective community mobilization.
This training was implemented by the “WE” Youth NGO of Lori Region within the framework of the “CSOs4SLD2: CSOs for Sustainable Local Development (Grant Management)” project’s small grants component by the “NGO Center” CSD NGO. The project is part of the “Strengthening Civil Society in the Eastern Partnership Countries” program, implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and funded by the German Government and the European Union (EU).
