In September 2025, the first day of the two-day training session “Sustainable Development Goals in Communities: Challenges and Solutions” was launched in the Stepanavan multi-settlement community. Twenty-five women and girls participated, showing their readiness to lead community development efforts.
During the first session, led by trainer Madlen Minasyan, participants explored the essential skills of a leader. Through team exercises, they analyzed the differences between a leader and a manager and identified the personal traits necessary for impactful leadership.
The second half of the day, conducted by trainer Davit Hakobyan, focused on “Sustainable Development Goals and Advocacy.” Using the “SDG Mapping” methodology, participants identified the key challenges within the Stepanavan community. The results of this mapping will contribute to a comprehensive summary report detailing the community issues across the three target communities, aligned with global sustainability goals.
This training was implemented by the “WE” Youth NGO of Lori Region within the framework of the “CSOs4SLD2: CSOs for Sustainable Local Development (Grant Management)” project’s small grants component by the “NGO Center” CSD NGO. The project is part of the “Strengthening Civil Society in the Eastern Partnership Countries” program, implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and funded by the German Government and the European Union (EU).
