On May 1, a regular workshop within the framework of the project “REGION: National Network for Reliable Information on Electoral Processes” was held in the Sisian community of the Syunik region. The participants included first-time voters, women, and forcibly displaced persons from Artsakh.
The session was conducted by project trainer Mariam Mkrtchyan, who discussed the importance of civic participation in democratic processes. Detailed information was provided on the principles of electoral rights, accessibility of voting, and effective ways to combat electoral violations throughout all stages of election day.
Special attention was given to the e-draft and e-request platforms, through which citizens can practically participate in discussions on legal drafts and submit inquiries to state bodies. During the workshop, frequently asked questions about elections were addressed, common misconceptions were identified, and these were cross-referenced with facts and current legislation.
The workshop is implemented with the financial support of the European Union and the German Marshall Fund of the United States – Transatlantic Foundation (GMF TF). The “WE” Youth NGO of Lori Region bears full responsibility for the content, which does not necessarily reflect the views of the European Union or the GMF TF.
