On April 17, a regular workshop within the framework of the project “REGION: National Network for Reliable Information on Electoral Processes” was held in the Gavar community of the Gegharkunik region.
The event was specifically aimed at increasing the awareness of first-time voters, women, and forcibly displaced persons from Artsakh. The session was conducted by the project trainer, Vahe Khachikyan, who presented the importance of civic participation in democratic processes, the fundamental principles and accessibility of electoral rights, as well as electoral violations and methods to combat them, covering all stages of the voting day. Participants also were introduced to the e-draft and e-request platforms, learning how to use them in practice as tools for civic oversight. Special attention was paid to frequently asked questions regarding elections; common misconceptions were identified and compared with facts and current legislation.
The workshop is implemented with the financial support of the European Union and the German Marshall Fund of the United States – Transatlantic Foundation (GMF TF). The “WE” Youth NGO of Lori Region bears full responsibility for the content, which does not necessarily reflect the views of the European Union or the GMF TF.
