“We” Youth NGO of Lori Region, in cooperation with “Youth for Change” NGO, is implementing the project “Youth-Led Oversight for Transparent 2026 Elections in Armenia.” The project aims to contribute to the transparency and accountability of the 2026 parliamentary elections by strengthening the participation of youth and local civil society in electoral oversight processes.
The independent observation mission “Azat Qve” (Free Vote), established within the framework of the project, conducted short-term observation during the June 7, 2026 National Assembly elections.
Key Results of the Project:
- Geographical Scope: 50 accredited observers monitored the electoral process across polling stations in Shirak (28), Lori (14), and Tavush (8) regions.
- Legal Achievement: The RA Administrative Court ruling upheld the organization’s right to observation, setting a precedent in protecting civic oversight.
- Response Mechanisms: On election day, 3 formal applications were submitted to the Police, and over 20 operational alerts were addressed to the Central Electoral Commission.
- Systemic Recommendations: The report presented recommendations aimed at ensuring polling station accessibility, regulating video recording, making technical improvements to voter authentication devices, and training election commission members.
