- Persistent Violence: Unlawful relations, physical abuse, and humiliation remain widespread, often without proper command oversight or preventive action.
- Flawed Investigations: Official inquiries are frequently delayed, limited to low-level perpetrators, and fail to enforce command responsibility.
Key Demands:
- Conduct effective, transparent investigations, including legal evaluations of command responsibility.
- Provide free legal, social, and psychological support to victims’ families and introduce unit-level crisis management protocols.
- Grant servicemen confidential access to civilian mental health experts and 24/7 hotlines.
- Implement systemic human rights reforms, mandatory training, and early risk-detection mechanisms.
- Publish a comprehensive multidisciplinary study on the root causes of military suicides and violence.
