Within the framework of the project “Promoting Youth Participation in Lori: Increasing Civic Engagement at Local and Regional Levels,” a civic dialogue meeting was held between the project participants and representatives of the Tashir Local Self-Government (LSG), including the Head of the Community, Edgar Arshakyan.

During the meeting, the young participants addressed their questions regarding community issues to the LSG representatives. Encouraging the active involvement of the youth, Community Head Edgar Arshakyan stated: “In Tashir, we have a youth council attached to the mayor’s office; if you have concerns, discuss them with the council and let’s meet. Do not wait for formal meeting opportunities like this-form groups yourselves and come to discuss your ideas together.”

Participants presented five key issues they identified concerning the youth in the Tashir community. Through a joint voting process, the participants and LSG representatives selected the priority issue that will be addressed through targeted initiatives in the coming months of the project.

This event is implemented with the support of the “EU4Youth: Youth Engagement and Empowerment” project, operating under the “Strengthening Civil Society in the Eastern Partnership Countries” program, which is co-funded by the German Government and the European Union.
