On October 12, 2025, the second day of the training session “Sustainable Development Goals in Communities: Challenges and Solutions” took place in the enlarged Stepanavan community. The final day focused on community governance and rights protection.
In the first half of the day, participants were introduced to the functions of local self-government bodies by trainer Kristine Hovsepyan. The session covered mechanisms for active and passive civic participation, and participants practically explored the official website of the Stepanavan Municipality as a key platform for information and feedback.
The second part of the day, led by trainer Varsik Nerkararyan, was dedicated to “Women’s Rights.” Through interactive exercises, participants analyzed the role of women in community life and the vital importance of their involvement in local development initiatives.
This training was implemented by the “WE” Youth NGO of Lori Region within the framework of the “CSOs4SLD2: CSOs for Sustainable Local Development (Grant Management)” project’s small grants component by the “NGO Center” CSD NGO. The project is part of the “Strengthening Civil Society in the Eastern Partnership Countries” program, implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and funded by the German Government and the European Union (EU).
