On June 28, the second day of the capacity-building training for regional digital leaders was successfully held within the framework of the project “Safe to Speak Online: Micro-Academy for Youth and Women in Armenia’s Regions.”
The second day of the workshop focused on high-priority practical and contemporary modules:
- Secure Communication: During the first session, trainer Aram Gevorgyan presented the topic of “Secure Communication.” Participants engaged in structured discussions regarding the proper usage of encrypted applications and reliable methods for establishing secure connections online.
- Media Immunity and Information Verification: In the second half of the day, led by trainer Madlen Minasyan, the sessions focused on media immunity. Participants learned practical, step-by-step techniques for debunking misinformation and utilizing fact-checking tools effectively before sharing any content online.
- Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Mentorship Model: The final phase of the training focused on the Peer-to-Peer mentorship framework. The group mapped out the next steps of the project and established the procedures for forming local teams within the regions. Our newly trained mentors are now fully equipped and ready to cascade their knowledge and empower their respective communities.
The project “Safe to Speak Online: Micro-Academy for Youth and Women in Armenia’s Regions” is implemented by the “WE” Youth NGO of Lori Region with the support of CIVICUS’s Digital Democracy Initiative (DDI).
