In 2025, a specialized media workshop was organized for the youth of the Vanadzor community within the framework of the project “Breaking Stereotypes: Promoting Gender Equality in Vanadzor Community.”

Trainer Varsik Nerkararyan introduced the definition and manifestations of gender stereotypes in the media field, highlighting the significant role media plays in shaping and disseminating these social constructs. The workshop focused on identifying hidden stereotypes in information flows and preventing their spread.

Participants reinforced their theoretical knowledge through practical exercises and group work. By analyzing real-life media examples, the youth collaboratively developed and proposed creative solutions aimed at overcoming stereotypes and promoting media literacy.

The project “Breaking Stereotypes: Promoting Gender Equality in Vanadzor Community” was implemented through a sub-grant provided by the “Kanani” NGO within the framework of the “Socialization Without Discrimination: Promoting Healthy Emotions and Equal Relationships” program, funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Armenia.
