The project “Media-check: Fact-Checking Clubs in Lori Region” has been implemented in Tashir and Gyulagarak communities to develop youth media literacy and critical thinking, as well as to promote the fight against disinformation and media manipulation.

The Project Goal is: To promote the fight against disinformation and media manipulation in Tashir and Gyulagarak communities of Lori Region by establishing fact-checking clubs, creating new platforms for cooperation, and developing the media literacy and critical thinking of young people.

Key Objectives and Results Addressed Within the Framework of the Project:

  • Establishment of Fact-Checking Clubs and Capacity Building: Within the framework of the project, fact-checking clubs have been created for young people. Club members participate in weekly “MediaWeekends,” where they learn to evaluate information sources, distinguish between fake and credible news, and develop critical thinking.
  • Media Content Production and Distribution: In parallel with the learning process, participants create their own media content-including articles, photo stories, and videos-which are published on the organization’s website and social media platforms.
  • Development of Innovative Educational Tools: The project includes the development of innovative educational tools. Specifically, a game-quest will be created to be used by young people not only from Tashir and Gyulagarak but also from Lori and neighboring regions. This game will help young people learn the mechanisms of detecting disinformation and effective means of countering media manipulation in an interactive format.
  • Implementation of Awareness Campaigns: A social media campaign is planned to be carried out through short videos (reels) prepared by the participants. The videos will present topics related to media literacy, digital security, and the negative impacts of manipulative content, contributing to raising awareness among the wider public.
