“Sustainable development goals in communities: challenges and solutions”  project is implemented in the Stepanavan, Tashir, and Gyulagarak communities of Lori Region and aims to promote the localization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the active and direct participation of women and girls. The initiative focuses on identifying, mapping, and jointly developing solutions to community issues, ensuring that the voices of women and girls are heard within local development processes.

Within the framework of the project, young women and girls take part in capacity-building trainings, during which they examine community challenges, link them to SDG 5 (gender equality) and SDG 11 (inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable communities), and contribute to the formulation of solutions. The mapped issues are digitized in an interactive format and shared with local self-government bodies, fostering constructive dialogue between women, girls, and community authorities.

The project also contributes to strengthening women’s and girls’ leadership at the community level, promoting a culture of participation, and expanding opportunities to influence local policies. As a result, increased participation of women and girls in community decision-making processes is expected, along with the development of more inclusive and sustainable solutions in the target communities of Lori Region.

This project is implemented by “We” youth NGO of Lori Region within the framework of small grants component of the “CSOs4SLD2:  CSOs for sustainable local development (Grant administration)” project implemented by “NGO Center” CSD NGO within the scope of “Strengthening Civil Society in the Eastern Partnership Countries” programme, implemented by GIZ with funding from the German Government and the European Union.
