The project aims to contribute to overcoming gender stereotypes in the city of Vanadzor. Within the framework of the project, participants had the opportunity to strengthen their media literacy and critical thinking skills as tools for challenging gender stereotypes. Through practical activities, they also learned how to respond effectively to manifestations of gender inequality in the media space.

During the first phase of the project, selected participants took part in a media workshop, where they explored the issue of gender stereotypes and approaches to addressing them in the media. In the second phase, participants engaged in an educational quest game. In the final, third phase, two video clips addressing gender stereotypes were produced with content developed by and featuring the participants. The project concluded with an online experience-sharing discussion with local influencers.

“Breaking Stereotypes: Promoting gender equality in the Vanadzor community” was made possible through a sub-grant provided by the Kanani NGO within the framework of the “Socialization without discrimination: Promoting healthy emotions and equal Relationships” program, which is funded by the Embassy of the Netherlands in the Republic of Armenia.
